Installing Custom Jars On Your Minecraft Server

This will show you how to setup a custom jar on your Minecraft server.

You will need to use a desktop FTP client such as FileZilla to connect to your servers FTP and upload the files.

First, please find the custom jar server file that you would like to use, such as a specific Spigot version and download it to your PC. Rename the .jar file you just downloaded to: custom.jar

Careful to ensure you do not set it to custom.jar.jar by accident

Next connect to your FTP using an FTP client such as FileZilla using the login details in your Control Panel (Files > FTP File Access) and then upload the file.

On your control panel, scroll down and open the advanced options. Scroll down further and change the server jar directory location setting to "server base directory".

Look for the "JAR File" field in the control panel and type custom.jar in the option box, setting the type to 'default'. Then click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

You can start the server now and if everything has been completed correctly the server will start without issues. We recommend checking the server console for errors.

Please note when uploading mod packs etc, the steps are abit different and more files are needed, see our article here.
