How to change the map for your ARK: Survival Evolved server

With our ARK: Survival Evolved game servers, enabling any of the DLC maps is a very simple process. We support all DLC including the new Official Crystal Isles map

Make sure the server is fully stopped, as well as updated using the Game Server Update button in the control panel

Go to the command line settings icon and click New command lines.

Click new.

Select your map from the configuration editor. All DLC maps are available here. You can even use a custom map mod.

The configuration editor for the command lines contain the majority of the command line options. If you feel something is missing do contact us. You can also add additional options in the additional options box near the bottom of the editor.

When you are happy with your options hit the save button.

Once created it will appear on the manager, ensure you click 'Enable Me' to select the command line to activate it. It will say 'Enabled' when done.

Troubleshooting

The server stops itself and you get an email alert saying the server has changed to 70 slots, or it shows ShooterEntry in steam server browser.

Possible Causes:

The server is missing files, usually from Steam update not completing fully
An incorrectly set command line
An incorrectly installed mod

Missing files / Bad steam update

Make sure the server is stopped

Run the steam update again

Wait for the steam update is complete, and make sure it completes successfully without any error. If you experience an error, wait 30 mins and try again, if it fails again. Contact support

Click the Config Files button in the control panel

Click the text editor next to the GameUserSettings.ini file

Scroll down to the MaxPlayers= setting, and set it back to your purchased slot count

Save and start the server.

For incorrectly installed mod or incorrect command line

If you're previously used a map mod
Go into the command line settings
edit your command line and set the map to map mod id
remove the map mod id from here
scroll to the bottom and click save
open the command line again and change the map dropdown to the map you want
save and start the erver

If you havent previously used a map mod
Please remove any custom options you have set in the command line
Please remove any mods

If the issue is then resolved, it will confirm that one of those are the issue, please contact us with information of how you set the command line and/or any mods you installed and we will investigate further.

The map, mod or options I selected do not work

It should appear in bold once correctly enabled. Click the EnableMe? button To the right of the command line to enable it
