How to change ARK server difficulty
Changing your server's difficulity is easy! In order to do so, please follow the steps below.
Log in to our TCadmin panel.
Select the game server you want to apply these settings on.
Click on Config Files.
Edit the text file or click configuration editor on the GameUserSettings.ini
Set the value to the setting below that you require.
DifficultyOffset=4.0
To calculate the difficulty we use the following calculation.
DifficultyOffset = (Maximum Creature Level / 30 - 0.5) / (Official Difficulty - 0.5)
For examples and more information see this article.
After changing difficulty offset, perform a wild dino wipe to see changes. To do so, execute this admin command in-game:
admincheat destroywilddinos
This will kill all the wild dinos on the map and the new dinos will spawn with the settings you set. Ones already tamed, will not be effected.
